Our holiday to beautiful island of Mauritius

This was our first holiday to Mauritius a beautiful island in the Indian Ocean. After a 14 hours journey we arrived in Mauritius.
After a 2 hours wait to go through custom we were greeted by our taxi driver. Our hotel Le Peninsula Bay Beach Resort & Spa in Blue Bay was a 15 minutes drive from the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport.

Blue Bay Mauritius

Blue Bay is one of the best and most beautiful setting with great beaches and crystal clear water. The hotel was walking distance. So once we familiarised ourselves with the hotel we went straight to survey our surrounding. Every morning from 10AM, we saw families coming by bus and spend the whole day picnicking. We watched them. At first we were fascinated by the sense of community there. Then by a sense of belonging, family from the Grandparents to the youngest one every there to really enjoying the day and the beautiful landscape.

The Blue Bay Marine Park is a must. Once we got there, we feasted our eyes on some of the bluest waters and most breath-taking white sandy beaches we ever seen. The colours of the sea are incredible. Marine Park is 353 hectares it includes the lagoon, seaward from the reef crest. A visit to ‘Ile des Deux Cocos’ is a must as it is an islet within the lagoon, a short boat ride away- Best place to go snorkelling.

The Town of Mahébourg

One of the highlights of our 2 days stay in Blue Bay was taking the bus and visited town of Mahébourg. A beautiful and fun bus journey it was to follow the coastal path. From a far we could see the natural reserve many small islands I wanted to visit but didn’t have the time and also the imposing Lion Mountain, which dominates the journey.
The town of Mahébourg is like any other town with the marketplace and a very scenic seafront. There is a museum and also there is the citadel which absolutely it’s worth a visit.

Mauritius is a paradise.

Mauritius is a paradise for all the senses, for the eyes with its beautiful landscape, for the taste the food and fruits. For the hearing the music and the songs made by the wildlife is so wonderful.
For the smell the sea breeze is perfect.
